Sunday Jams: Steel Pulse

Is that the smell of summer in the air? Maybe… not quite. We’re still about a week away from the official start of spring. But summer sure is biting, at least down here in the south. So today we’re bringing out the beach vibes with some chill reggae by Steel Pulse to officially say goodbye to winter.

Steel Pulse formed in Birmingham, England back in 1975. They’ve been nominated multiple times for a Grammy, having won “Best Album” back in 1986. And wouldn’t you know, they are still out and about performing their music today. Coincidently performing at a Reggae Festival this afternoon here in St. Pete, FL!

Here are some of my favorite hits for this week’s Sunday Jams:

Bonus Track! A fun reggae twist on Van Morrison’s “Brown Eyed Girl.”

Love their music, Haven’t been in Jamaica in a long, long time…unlike any other place in the world. Good coffee and rum…lotsa guys with guns….

Oooh, glad the Sunday Jams this week could bring back some hopefully fun memories of Jamaica! It’s hard to beat a good Caribbean rum, that’s for sure. Cheers! 🍹
