Here’s the story that is dominating social media and should be the top story around the country. The DOJ has charged the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) with wire fraud, false statements, and conspiracy to commit money laundering. Let’s take a look at this story and all the implications. So, what this implies is that the SPLC was raising money to fight vicious racist while simultaneously paying people to behave like vicious racists. It’s easier to raise money if you have a villain to ‘fight’. To call this a scandal is an insult to the word scandal. Now I should add that these are just charges and everyone is innocent until proven guilty.
This is the part of the story where words will start to be minced, in my opinion. The SPLC will say they had “Paid informants” and it’s all perfectly legal.
But from where I’m sitting, it looks like fraud. Good ol fashioned fraud.
