Someone thought it would be a swell idea to put kill switches in cars! That way, if someone wanted to, they could just prevent someone else from driving! Tada!
This is all for ‘public safety’ supposedly. They can kill a car if a crazy person is behind the wheel, right? Guess who else they can stop from driving? You! Yup. Some faceless bureaucrats or even and AI program could just decide you shouldn’t go anywhere and you’re done driving till they figure it out.
The kill switch is a bad idea and needs to be killed. There’s a reason why they pass crap like this when nobody’s looking. They know it sucks.

Now, as the shit storm of finger pointing commences, let’s just focus on a resounding “Kill the kill switch”. I don’t care about side shows and blame games. Just kill it. And maybe do something useful like spending less money and defunding programs that are doing harm. And are we still paying the Taliban? Maybe kill that instead of Americans ability to drive.
I enjoyed you and everyone talking about this on the livestream last night. This Kill Switch Bill is such a horrible idea. It’s such a violation of our rights and it opens the door for more issues such as government overreach (we all know that could never happen,right?), possible hacking issues, malfunctions, etc. It has actually been done before. Former CIA agent John Kiriakou,talked about the CIA had a program called Vault 7 ,where they ,through the computer system , gain control of your car and stop it or make it go off a bridge or crash you into a tree. Scary stuff. So who’s to say they wouldn’t use the Kill Switch for more nefarious reasons. That is a slippery slope that no one wants go down. It’s time to Kill the Kill Swich once and for all. I made a comment last night that Youtube (we have a history) took down that I would okay with the Kill Switch on semi trucks being driven by Indian drivers. They were not amused. It’s just amazing to me that we have a bill named “No Tax Dollars for Terrorists Act” circulating through our government right now and that nothing has been done about this since DOGE found this out very early in their fraud investigations. And the Kill Switch? It’s nutty how many ‘Conservatives” voted for it. The GOP has some real issues with bad actors.
