Disney Star Wars is dead. Here’s the best path forward.

Pardon me if I start this Disney Star Wars post with a hearty: We told you so! For years and years, the fans tried to warn Disney about the path they were going down and we were ridiculed. Well, turns out that the fans were right. Disney Star Wars is dead. People aren’t watching the content and they aren’t buying the merch.

Let’s take sober look at the state of Disney Star Wars and what I feel is the best path forward. I’m a fan of franchise and worked in TV and Film for a long time. I only add that last bit, so you know you’re not just reading the ramblings of a crazy person. I know show biz and all these ideas are worth discussing.

Just so we’re all on the same page, the only Disney Star Wars content people watched was Andor. It was fantastic by the way. We hyped that one. Andor was just awesome. But the sequel trilogy? Everyone knows it sucked.

Now let’s move on to what Disney Star Wars should do now. Here’s my idea: It’s simple and straight forward.

I don’t know if this video is accurate, but hey, it’s better than what we got. Maybe just ask George what he wants to do.

I for one am intrigued with the idea involving The Whills. What’s that all about? And how would that work? Bonus? It sounds like something we’ve never seen! New stuff! Shocking idea!

The “Whills”: In later years, Lucas mentioned a desire to explore the microbiological level of the Force, specifically the “Whills”—beings that feed off the Force and use midi-chlorians as conduits to communicate with other life forms.

Lastly? And this is the easy one? Just make movie adaptations of the books. There are ton of great Star Wars books and those come with a built-in audience, story and all that good stuff.

The most popular Star Wars books, often cited as essentials by fans and critics, include Heir to the Empire (Thrawn Trilogy), Darth Bane: Path of Destruction, Darth Plagueis, Revenge of the Sith novelization, and Lost Stars. These works are praised for deepening lore, featuring compelling characters, and exceptional storytelling, covering both Canon and Legends timelines.

Our very own Lisa, knows what’s up.

It’s a no-brainer at this point. The Mandalorian ain’t gonna cut it.
