This is a post that is a standalone question but it’s also a companion piece to this week’s podcast. while looking the restoration of the fountains in DC and the design for the Lucas Museum of Narrative art, something really hit me: We get to choose how we live. We can be surrounded with filth and shit or we can be surrounded with beauty. It’s that simple. I want the beauty.
Take a look at what I’m talking about. We’ll start with DC. All of these public monuments and fountains had gone to shit. They are now being fixed and it’s wonderful.
It’s a matter of choice. We have to choose beauty.
And people are mad about the reflecting pool? Blow me. How about that.
It’s all worth it. The Biden admin said the reflecting pool alone would be 300 million to fix. Trump is getting it done for 13. That’s it. 13 million to fix the pool. Not ever close to 300 million.
Now, let’s take one more look at what George Lucas is doing. This cost us nothing. It’s just beautiful. George and his wife are footing the bill.
We don’t have to live, surrounded by trash. We can have beautiful things. We just have to choose to live that way.
