Who’s excited about season 2 of Ahsoka? …Anyone? I’m sure someone is hyped for this, beyond Rosario Dawson and Dave Feloni, the star and the characters creator, respectively. Anyway, there’s a trailer out for the show and once again we have great effects and that’s about it. Sorry. Thems the apples. But we’ll show you the trailer and follow up with some thoughts.
Let’s get this out of the way. Ahsoka season 2 starts streaming on Disney plus on January 20th. There. Housekeeping complete. Now for my thoughts.
The writing doesn’t seem to have improved much at all. It’s hard to tell from a trailer but if it’s the same people writing the show? Oof. Season 1 was horrible. It was a collection of characters doing things just so they would happen. Maybe the worst written Star Wars show of all time. Rosario Dawson just kind of walks through events and does things with no emotion. Ghost’s show up and have their own little show withing a show. Anyone remember the zombie stormtroopers? What happened with them? The brilliant, evil general was a moron.
The whole show was a mini–Star Wars Rebels cartoon reunion. The show broke the number one rule of science fiction writing: It was stupid. Once sci-fi gets stupid? It’s almost certainly game over. Let’s see if they can turn things around with season 2 of Ahsoka.
