That’s the quote that President Trump put up on Truth Social a short time ago. “Iran is completely collapsing”. Of course he went with all caps, but I think we all understand the message he’s trying to get across. ‘The US means business and we’re not messing around!’

Now here’s what is going on: Sanctions. Yup. The ol’ ‘dialing up the sanctions’ is happening. This time around they are talking about an ‘Economic D-Day’ too. What’s that all about?

Here’s a standout part from that post: The President has created the conditions to leverage every agency, every authority and action many assumed we would never summon. Our objective is to sever every economic lifeline that sustains the tyrannical regime until Tehran stands alone.

Now for the billion-dollar question: Will this work?

Pardon me If I sound jaded, but I will believe it when I see it. How many times have we heard about sanctions and economic leverage? It’s a lot. How long has Iran been under some kind of sanction? A lot. Maybe this time will be different. Looks like we’re bombing banks now. So, that’s new.

Here’s my jade take: We’ve heard a lot of ‘Iran is done’ talk and we’ve heard sanction talk for a long time. Hopefully this one is different. Let’s hope it works this time. Why not?
