Sen. Josh Hawley has announced a Senate Judiciary Subcommittee investigation into Flock cameras. Now as much as I like the idea of something actually happening? I’m running a little low in the faith of Committee investigations. But something is better than nothing. Americans shouldn’t be comfortable about these cameras one little bit.
We keep seeing Flock (I use flock as a name for ALL surveillance cameras by the way) discribed as ‘License Plate Readers’ but hopefully we’re all aware that cameras take pictures of everything. Not just license plates. We all know that, right? And what happens to all that data these cameras collect? Why, you’d need giant data centers to process all that data! Hmmm… makes you wonder.

Hawley’s letter to Flock’s CEO highlights documented cases of data misuse by law enforcement, high false positive rates leading to wrongful arrests, and demands full disclosure on data access and safeguards by September 8, 2026.
