There appears to be an opportunity here with the Kennedy Center. The venue is facing a multitude of challenges. Not only is the place falling apart, they also are facing bankruptcy. Ouch. Somehow all of this could be avoided if they added the name Trump back on the building. The idea being that with Trump’s name back on the building, the money could be raised to save it. Hmmm.
I’m coming at this from a different point of view. Ready? The existing Kennedy Center is ugly as all hell. Knock it down and start over. As far as the arts and awards and the shows? We need all of that as a society. I’m cool with all of that continuing. But damn. Why have it all in that ugly ass building?
Knock that shit down and build something we can all be proud of. Are you proud if that building? Hell no. That looks like the coldest, corporate, unimaginative IBM workspace building ever devised. It hurts your heart just to look at it. Dentists wouldn’t work in a building like this.
I’m post this one just for the picture. Dayum. Look at it.
As far as the money part of this goes: Where is everybody? Where are all the big money donors? Here’s a hint: They don’t give a shit. They just to be on a PBS show once a year. This isn’t even about art or the arts.
And look at it from the front! That’s nasty! This a building for the arts? Tear that glorified post office it’s over. The more I look at this place the worse it is!
Sweet lord. Even when they add patriotic lighting its bad. Look at this report!
Tear it down. This place is shockingly bad. Did you know it looked like this? I know I didn’t. Tear that ugly ass thing down and start over. These poor souls would rather have weeds in the foreground of their Kennedy Center picture. That’s how ugly this building is.
