Maybe we should have some kind of font that indicates sarcasm. The part of the headline that reads “That sure happened fast” was meant to be sarcastic and mocking. I find it simply wild how fast people can ‘spontaneously’ get together to riot after ICE does anything.
It feels as if moments after ICE agents shot and wounded a Venezuelan guy in Austin TX, people were taking to the streets. That’s all I know about the story. ICE agent’s wounded a Venezuelan dude after a brief car chase, and you blink your eyes and there are people in the streets.
So, there’s an interesting piece of video. Then we smash cut to this:
It’s still daylight. That is a quick turnaround for people to get together!
And when you see all the foreign flags and all the protestors, you kinda think: Wow. ICE would have a field day out there. The police eventually made their way over. Just so you know.
Am I sorry that a Venezuelan got shot and hurt? Sure. Does ICE have a job to do? You bet. Are there millions of people who need to be encouraged to leave? Yup. And am I more concerned with violence and American citizens? You bet!
So, for all the protestors who suddenly appeared waving foreign flags: What’s your problem? That a guy got shot? Are you not cool with violence? If that’s the case, then we are in agreement. Violence isn’t cool. But if you’re just drumming up more violence to stop the people who are stopping the violence? We have issues with that.
The NYT is treating a shooting in Austin like someone just discovered life on Mars. Does it feel like NYT is trying to hype the fear and get people fired up to fight some bogey man? Of course it does. Maybe a few years ago it would have worked too. Now too many are hip to how thing in ‘media’ work. You can save your fake outrage. I’m not buying it. And if you are outraged? WHY? What part of the story is outrageous? The violence? If that’s the case let’s have that discussion.
The ICE shooting in Austin is unfortunate and we all know that the mainstream media is going to villianize the crap out of ICE and it’s agents with it being so close to the midterms. It’s amazing how quickly these protesters got together to throw rocks,bottles and expletives at the anyone in the vicinity of their unhinged bullhorn rants. Later on,they blocked expressway ramps leaving people stuck trying to get home,which led to a slew of arrests. They forgot that they aren’t in Portland or Minneapolis. According to Fox News these lovely folks were contacted and mobilized by the DSA,the Freedom Road Socialists Organization,and a few other socialist groups that have ties to non profits supported by Neville Roy Singham. (Allegedly) SHOCKER! It’s always the usual suspects. It’s just a blatant attempt to destabilize another city and so the mainstream media can pronounce that Trump has once again brought chaos due to his extreme immigration and deportation policies. They certainly don’t care about the innocent victims of any of these scumbags. Brianna Lyman brought that up on Abby Phillips’s CNN show and a liberal shrew panelist said she was exhausted about talking about them and that’s how the Dems feel as well. It’s sickening and should be a huge wake up call for the midterms. A great article. Thanks Michael!
