This week saw someone who I grew up watching and admiring complete his transformation from lovable underdog male lead to, well, we don’t know anymore. Like Sean Penn, Cusack was a talented actor who slid ever further into angry far-left politics. Unlike Penn, however, I used to love Cusack. You see, this was before the internet and the era when it was hard to know the actor behind the character.
This was all it took for the memers to runs with it.

Trump apparently did not have his camera turned on during a G7 Zoom call, much to the dismay of the professional dismay-havers.
An interesting thing happened in the AI current cultural moral panic: Anthropic and the Pope got into it over machine consciousness. Boss has thoughts on AI as well.
And that led to this week’s Amazing AI. This makes my gamer-geek heart happy. It’s basically Warhammer 40K vs Terminator.
Speaking of AI, Bernie Sanders found yet another thing to rally the masses against the oligarchs and tech bros. Bernie’s playbook never changes: find the newsworthy thing happening, make that thing a tool of oppression by the billionaires and demand that whatever this thing is, wedge in “working families” to complete the class warfare model.
An attempted hijacking or terror incident was thwarted this week but since Israel was mentioned, the conspiracy theorists lost their minds, or more accurately, would have if they didn’t lose it a long time ago.
What else? Oh yeah. France had riots. But since it’s mostly Muslim immigrants burning and destroying things, you’re not likely to hear about it. But if you do, you’ll hear it’s about students protesting inadequate funding.
