Magnificent Metal Moments for Your Monday

Whatever your politics, I do appreciate James Hetfield of Metallica telling fans he hates the political bullsh*t of some performers, and feels their concerts are where you go to escape the outside world division.

You know what? There is a very healthy release that head-banging along with heavy metal brings. You get your anger, frustrations and (I hate to use this word) anxieties out of the way in non-abrasive way. Scream. Jump around and celebrate the music without any obligations to the outside world.

So, as we dig into the Monday crunch with political ads and opinions all around us, let’s escape into some cool metal moments, staring with some kids rockin’ Slipknot:

Vocalist Anthony Vincent is uses metal to convey many things to us: including telling us to have a productive Monday:

..and if you’ve ever made the “that’s screaming, not singing,” comment, here’s a look at Vincent’s phenomenal vocal range turning the head-banging anthem “Chop Suey” into 20 different artists’ diverse genres:

And then you have Germany’s Rammstein, a band who has patented backpack flamethrowers and literally set themselves on fire (not by choice) for the love of performance. This iconic flamethrower ripple effect gives you a glimpse of their show in less than 20 seconds:

Oh, and as for Metallica, yes, their concerts are still epic if this mindblowing “Call of Ktulu” imagery just in time for Halloween from their recent Vegas Sphere concert is any indication:

I don’t care or really know what Hetfield’s personal politics are, and that’s fine. Because sometimes, the Metal is all you need.
