This is the moment. This is when I knew it was over for me. The New Obi Wan Trailer. That’s when I knew Disney has killed Star Wars. It’s a bummer. It marks a huge milestone for me. I watched the trailer and felt… nothing. Zero. There’s a moment in the clip when we’re led to believe Darth Vader and Obi Wan come face to face. A couple years ago you would have had to peel me off the ceiling, I’d be flipping out so much. But now? After watching Disney churn out 3 crap movies and systematically mess up every Star Wars series and character? It’s over. I felt nothing. I didn’t care. At this point is just a waiting game to see how they screw up yet another beloved character. And I don’t think I want to watch that. Let someone else watch and tell me what happens. That’s a first for me as a Star Wars fan. I’ve felt some level of excitement or anticipation or anger at every new Star Wars release. Not now. They have beaten me into submission. I don’t care anymore.
I was curious about this trailer. The trailer itself doesn’t look too bad. But it isn’t overly exciting either. It seems like your main complaint is the trajectory of the franchise rather than this movie alone. That is a fair judgement though given it comes from Disney. At some point, these film makers and streaming services will lose enough shares to realize that woke isn’t as popular as people think it is and we’ll get make to mainstream entertainment.
I hope you’re right. The Vader moment should have had me losing my mind. Now it’s just a question of how bad they will ruin it.
Could we select the CHINA version instead? ;o\
HA! Wish we could! LOL! Lots of different edits over there now.
