Are big screen Star Wars movies finished? The YouTuber Robot Head certainly thinks so. He makes a very strong case for no more big screen adventures set in the Star Wars universe. Lot’s of cancelled projects. And when we say lots? We mean a LOT! Ouch. Now we do agree on many of the points made in the video however, there is reason for more than a bit of hope. Even Disney know how much money is as stake here. They won’t be able to leave that on the table. Disney has a talent problem on the writing/production side. Kathleen Kennedy just isn’t good at Star Wars. End of story. Anything good that has occurred in recent Star Wars seems to have happened in spite of her. Projects that have snuck under the radar. Andor was a great show. Just a home run. Give that showrunner a movie. Set it waaaay in the past. Or waaaay in the future. Just get away from the Skywalkers. Start your own thing. It’s scary. But it truly is the way. As for the only Star Wars movie that looks like it’s moving forward being penned by Damon Lindelof? The jury is out. His Watchmen show for HBO was really strong. But again, that was based on character he didn’t create. How is he with original stuff? That’s the rub. Now, as to Solo being a bomb? I’ll say this: Solo looks like Citizen Kane compared to most of the other Star Wars crap. For real. Maybe give Ron Howard another go. But this time? Maybe light the set so we can see. Ha!
