It’s nice when you find a video that sums things up so nicely. YouTuber Robothead has put together another well thought out video critique of Disney’s The Mandalorian. It’s spot on. The show is almost unwatchable. Like most Star Wars fans, I tuned in to season 3 of The Mandalorian hoping that the someone at Disney had learned something from the series Andor. You see, Andor was well written, the characters weren’t idiots, the audience didn’t have everything spelled out for them and the showrunner weren’t afraid to show and not tell. Andor was really, really good. Highly recommend. Sadly, that isn’t the case with The Mandalorian. The show is systemically being killed by horrible writing. Characters do things just because the writers wanted a scene to happen. It’s bad, like, really bad. I could list instance after instance or… instead of telling you… I could show you with this clip. See how easy that was? Someone should tell the writers of The Mandalorian. Show don’t tell.
