The Peter Pan Remake – Flubbing Feminism

Disney+ has found it’s woke template. And like everything mass produced, one size fits all and creative deviation is not allowed. The current woke take on feminism Disney style is girl-boss-doing-everything-a boy-does-but-better.

However, as the most excellent Critical Drinker notes, the book by James Matthew Barrie doesn’t smash gender roles or any of the current jargon. No, but somehow he has a strong female protagonist who displays her strength in protecting the Lost Boys and bringing much-needed maturity to them. Swordplay, not so much.

This nuance must fly over the heads of the “creatives” at the modern Disney because all they got is one message delivered one way repeatedly.

I’ve said enough, let The Drinker explain it in his own hilarious but intelligent way.
