The Acolyte and the slow death of Star Wars.

It’s hard to watch. The slow death of Star Wars. It’s like watching a friend drown and there’s nothing you can do. That’s Disney Star Wars. The franchise occasionally shows signs of life, with shows like Andor and season one of The Mandalorian, but then it goes under again. And with each new show the drowning goes on. For every glimpse of hope, another weight of garbage is added to the legs of Star Wars. The latest anchor looks to be Star Wars ‘The Acolyte’.

The Acolyte has social media less than excited. Now our drowning metaphor takes a darker turn. Not only is Star Wars Drowning, but people don’t care. And some are eager for Star Wars to die. Just end it already.

The problem, if you’re still here, is the writing of Star Wars shows. That’s the long and short of it. The execs hire people to write the shows the execs want to tell. That’s the issue. If the writer sucks or is weak? You get absolute garbage. If the story is good and told by a good writer and director? You get something good, like Andor. Mostly you get a long line of bootlickers who will just do what they’re told in the hopes it will make the execs happy and further their career. That’s the problem. As to solve it and save Star Wars from drowning? I don’t think you can. Disney will suck every nickel out of this franchise before they move on to the next victim. It’s sad. But hey, how good was Dune? That was awesome! Let’s move on!

God that trailer is bad. I;m not sure how you buy a cash cow like Star Wars, and just run it into the ground in so short of a time.

And not putting the big three in a scene together in The Force Awakens? CRIMINAL!
