Before I start, just know that I was a long-time resident of Los Angeles. I only mention it to quiet the people who want to say dumb crap like: “You don’t live here. You don’t know what you’re talking about.” So, just know that yours truly was in LA for decades. So, there’s that. Now we can move on to the most recent fire. This should be the fire that finally changes the status quo in Los Angeles and hopefully all of California. Aren’t the people of the golden state tired of this yet?
Cali has a long tradition of pretending everything is okay and the politicians and elected officials know what they’re doing. This fire should dispel that myth hopefully once and for all. This fire affects the rich. The donor class. The people who write big fat checks to political parties and think they’ll never be touched by the results. Welcome aboard. The policies they support are now at the front door. It sucks, but here it is.
And you have no money. The California budget is a horror show.
Water has been an issue for as long as I can remember. Every year, the vast majority if rain and runoff from the mountains goes back into the ocean. That seems stupid.
And it’s not as if people didn’t see this coming. Again, it’s a horrible thing that’s happening, but it’s not like you got hit by a freak meteor. This has always been on the horizon for Cali. We all knew it would happen at some point if nothing changed.
Now is a good time for the donor class to get angry. Stop voting for failure. Stop supporting the candidates who put you in this terrible situation.
