It’s finally here. The official Superman trailer for the movie coming out in theaters on July 11, 2025. I’ll give it to James Gunn and the production crew here. It seems as if some of the little issues that came up along the way have been resolved. Like they were listening to their fanbase. One of the biggest concerns? Krypto looking more like a real dog. Seems like they nailed it.
It’s certainly action-packed from the looks of it, so let’s hope they’ve packaged it up all nicely for us. And it appears as if the internet already has a favorite tagline. “Hey buddy. Eyes up here.”
As someone who will forever been team Christopher Reeve, I have a really hard time opening my arms to new renditions of Superman. But all personal feelings aside, the official Superman trailer is definitely worth a watch. Up, up, and away!
Had to chime in with my 2 cents. I really want this movie to work. I’m a Superman fan. I’ll definitely buy a ticket to see this one. That being said, I have to wonder: What is going on with this trailer? There’s everything plus the kitchen sink! WTH is happening? Lois knows Clark is Superman… Pa Kent sounds like he had a stroke.. the entire justice league looks like they’re in the movie… WTH is happening? Give a brother some kind of clue. This looks like an absolute mess. At least as a trailer. Slow down… Relax.
I got no beef with James Gunn or the cast. But dayum. What is this movie even about? Yes superman is there… but what’s he doing? Besides being misunderstood? (That’s always a tough sell for me. The misunderstood, morally conflicted version of Superman) good luck with that. Hopefully the next trailer will reveal more.
Everything Loftus said about the trailer is accurate. And yet, it still looks better than anything Marvel has put out lately..
Yes! This Superman trailer at least looks like a crazy superman themed collage. However… we know that big casts and lots o action is where James Gunn thrives. Maybe that’s what we’re going to get. Superman as the reluctant leader of a rag tag group of loser heroes that have to save the day. Like Guardians of Galaxy or Suicide Squad 2. Either way… those flicks are way better than what DC or Marvel has been putting out. I just want a Superman who is noble and stands for truth, justice and the American way. Like the OG Superman from the 70’s movie. I’m not a fan of emotionally conflicted superman.
I have no issues with the trailer itself. It was stirring and my Kindergartener inside was reminded about what drew him to Superman in the first place.
I do wish Krypto were smoother, but can accept this little change. It did make him cuddlier.
I thought seeing Metamorpho was cool, always liked him, like Hawkgirl.
I am tired of Lex. Superman has more enemies than Lex Luthor. I don’t need any more Lex in a Superman movie or any more Joker in Batman.
I can’t stand Guy Gardner. I hope he is there to get punked on.
Loved the theme from the 70s Superman movies, that was perfect. I could do without the continuation of the crystal tech from Krypton, but it will work.
My thing with the trailer was just how much was going on. It looks they threw the kitchen sink in there! But if anyone can handle giant cast, it’s James Gunn. Am still excited for this one.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I agree, the trailer itself is exciting and serves its purpose. Sell the movie. The amount of content within the movie that it’s trying to sell? A little concerning. I’m afraid they’re trying to fit a quart into a pint pot. But it seems as if we all have a handful of things to be nervous about. We shall wait and see!
And yes! 1970s Superman… I’d continue to pay to go see those movies in the theater. 😉
Hey! Wanted to add this into the mix. How great is it that Superman still has such a fan base? We should add up all the different incarnations of Supes at some point. It has to be a shit ton! LOL! And here we all are! Still hoping for a “good superman” movie! I love it!
