Saturday Night Live alum, Cecily Strong, had this hilarious character with an absurdly long name, “Girl You Wish You Hadn’t Started a Conversation With at a Party”.

To be honest, I’ve never met a person exactly like this in real life. Sure, I’ve met smug liberal know-it-alls and dudes to dribble malaprops, but this creation was a pure fiction to me.
Until Alexandria Ocasio Cortez. AOC is never short of simultaneously air-headed and confident takes. But this fresh one is for the history books.
While I doubt that Strong is intentionally parodying AOC due to liberal loyalties, the resemblance is scary-good.
Watch as AOC wants to foment Civil War II with the South because redistricting is up there with slavery. Watch.
The money quote is when she says that this is just the “opening silo”. No dear reader, she’s not opening the corn silo, she meant “salvo”.
Which prompts us to ask, with apologies to John Belushi?
“Was it over when the South fired on Fort Summer?
“No! We will fight from Gettysberg’s address to Approximatox’s courthouse!”

Hi Gordon! Another article by you on the weekend. What a nice surpise! Cecily Strong’s character on SNL is a hilarious dead ringer for AOC . After watching it for years, I never even thought of it. This is genius! I’ve unfortunately run into a few of these AOC wannabes when I’ve been helping campaigns and outside the polling places (with a hotly contested US congressional candidate who’s been targeted by the left several times because of his conservative voting record) It ‘s amazing how confidently wrong AOC is on everything she champions. Everything from taxing billionaires to illegal immigrants. Nice Belushi reference. “Forget it. She’s on a roll.” HA! When you know absolutely nothing about our country’s history or even what’s above or below the equator,it’s bound to make for some great comedy in the months to come. AOC is the gift that keeps giving. Thanks Gordon!
