IMHO a reuben sandwich is king! No recipe required all you need is good rye bread, corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, Russian or thousand island dressing, butter and a fry pan. The origin of the Reuben sandwich has some controversy some say it was created in NYC others say Omaha, wherever or whomever created it, its delicious. Here’s how to make it:
Reuben Sandwich
Rye bread (I like marble rye) sliced thinly
Swiss cheese (Jarlsberg)
corned beef thinly sliced as much as you like
sauerkraut
Dressing Russian or Thousand Island (mix mayonnaise, ketchup and sweet pickle relish)
Butter

Spread dressing on both slices of bread. Add a slice of cheese, the corned beef and sauerkraut, top with another slice of cheese. Butter both slices of bread and grill in heated skillet (medium high heat) flipping so both sides are browned, turn heat to low and let sit for about a minute or two to make sure the cheese is melted.
