Maybe consider this a follow up to the piece we posted last week about Spot the dancing robot dog. Robots, Boston Dynamics and AI are deeply troubling. People like Elon Musk are concerned. You should be too.

Yes, there’s the question of how many jobs will be lost to robots. That can be managed. The deep level of worry on our part is the militarization of these bots and drones and the exponential growth of artificial intelligence. Both things are no bueno in our books.
With recent developments in how computers and processors can be made, the speeds will continue to get faster and the computers will continue to get smaller. Many believe the singularity (or artificial intelligence becoming self-aware) is only about five years away. Maybe that’s why Elon is trying to get off the planet so fast. HA!
