Looking back at D-Day. The start of the liberation of Europe.

To the men and women who were part of D-Day, we can’t thank you enough. Books have been written, movies have been made and I for one, hope they never stop. The people who took part in this herculean endeavor are a constant source of inspiration and wonder.

Let’s take a look at D-Day. I’m no military historian. I just know that in WW2, the allies had to launch an attack on Hitler forces in Europe. They sent a massive number of men and equipment on June 6, 1944. It was the largest amphibious invasion in human history.

The events of D-Day were astonishing, humbling and inspiring. When people talk about ‘Never forget’, they are talking about events like D-Day. We cannot thank these heroes enough.

Thank you for recognizing D-Day. It is such an important day that marks of the most significant amphibious operation in American military history. The brave men who stormed those beaches in Normandy under heavy enemy fire and those who made the ultimate sacrifice should never be forgotten. Over the years, I had isome fascinating conversations with some of these outstanding men including my late Uncle Bob, who would tell us stories when we were kids and showed us his Nazi pistol he brought back. They were all proud that they fought to destroy the pure evil that was Hitler and his Nazi regime to liberate Western Europe. What they all sacrificed deserves to be respected and honored forever.

Years ago I read Stephen Ambrose’s book on D-Day it just floored me. Insane amounts of bravery. Highly recommend his book. He also wrote Band of Brothers. Another great great read.
