Ah, Twitter. It has a way of bringing out the best of the worst in everyone, with hyper-inflated opinions, creepy over-sharing, and celebrity or politician worship or demonizing taken to new levels.
However, there are some feeds that have unlocked the way to be on Twitter, stay crazy in a good way, avoid too much controversy, and still amass thousands of followers: focus.
Yes, some feeds are political, some share news and facts of favorite music, movies, history or art, but there are others that have taken narrowing things down to a fine art. If you have been thinking of leaving Twitter, or just beginning to follow the madness, here are a few timeline cleansing feeds that concentrate primarily on one nifty thing:
Frasier Looking at Video Games
Everyone’s favorite lovable snob, Frasier Crane, looking at backgrounds, characters and props from various video games. He likes all kinds of games, vintage and new, like Monkey Island!
“Cat Vibing” feeds
Do you like Pokemon music? Tunes from the 80s? French rap? Anime closing themes? Kpop? You name it, there’s a likely a “cat vibing” feed out there featuring the hip white fluffy cat vibing out to his favorite tunes, like, oh, for example, one of my favorites, “Cat Vibing indie, postpunk, shoegaze, dark wave synth”:
Time-Keeping Feeds
There are some feeds that help you mark you calendar with their singular focus. Want to know how many days are left until Halloween? There’s a feed:
Do you want to have Daniel Craig remind you The Weekend is upon us. There’s a weekly feed for that, as well:
Yes, I follow both of these feeds.
Paddington in Movies
Here’s one for those who love movies, but don’t feel there’s enough cuddly bears in raincoats in them. Jaythechou Photoshops Paddington Bear into a movie or show everyday.
Terrible Maps
I love maps and vicariously exploring the world through them. I also love cool infographics and world history factoids. Wherever a map is crappy or a geography joke falls to its death, you can find it on Terrible Maps.
“You Had One Job”
Finally, there couldn’t be a more ironic singularly-focused site than one that pays homage to people who royally screwed up their own “one job.” There are a few of these sites around, but this one I really enjoy. Especially as does get different people sharing their own findings of other fowl-ups and memes.
Before you get caught up in the arguing, the “my anxiety” screeching, and back-and-forth hot take bickering, be thankful there are feeds out there like these that exist, in my summation at least, for one purpose only: to remind us to take joy in the little things.
I needed this laugh and that white cat would be one of mines personality for sure!
woo hoo!
